Back in 2020, I felt skeptical that a normal wedding season could ever be possible again. But 2022 proved that weddings are back mostly as we’ve always known them with some pandemic wedding trends, like curated guest lists and private vows, sticking around. My favorite trend that’s been gaining popularity is booking non-traditional venues like a restaurant or private residence backyard. In 2022, I was even able to shoot a wedding in the middle of Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Orlando!
2022 was also a transition year for me. My wife and I packed up our lives in Boston and moved 1,285 miles south to Orlando, FL. It’s been so interesting learning the subtle differences between these two wedding markets! For example, Florida’s wedding season is opposite New England’s with Floridian couples avoiding the hot summer months entirely.
