Alyssa + Derek - Portsmouth, NH Engagement Session

Derek and Alyssa are a truly awesome couple. Derek sings for the band Defeater and Alyssa is studying to become a nurse, together they spend live in Downtown Portsmouth. Our paths first crossed at Laura and Jay's wedding a couple years back and I am glad to return to this really great group of friends. The three of us had a blast wandering around the historic Strawberry Banke area of Portsmouth. We said hi to stray cats and unleashed dogs and enjoyed some great weather. They loved on eachother and I took some photos.

Blair + Josh - DC Capitol Building Elopement

I've known Blair since my punk rock days in South Florida. She now lives in DC and has met Josh who is an amazing guy working in the House of Representatives. So here's the thing, this wedding was a total of 6 people. The two of them, and then both of their parents, and the venue? Oh just the rotunda of the Capital building... Josh's mom officiated, Blair put her dress on in the public ladies room. After a really beautiful ceremony we had 2 hours for portraits all over DC. The rain that was supposed to happen all day waited until right before we got into the cab to the restaurant. So I got to end the night by joining their families for a delicious dinner at Willow Restaurant. This wedding made me beyond happy. The whole day was mind blowing and I am so ecstatic to finally share these images with the world.

Andrew + Jessica - Red Lion Inn Wedding Photography

I do not know enough words to accurately describe my love for this wedding and these two human beings. I clicked with them instantly when we bonded over our roots in punk rock, our love of cooking and comedy, it was instant friendship. And the two of them, their love for each other is amazing, just perfectly beautiful. I remember when Andrew e-mailed me the video of him proposing, I knew it was coming, yet I still sat at my desk and cried like a baby. They kept reminding me throughout the whole process that photography was their #1 priority and I have to say, it makes my job even more amazing to work in that type of situtation and when given a "do whatever you want" canvas, we end up with the glory that are these images. I am so glad I had the chance the be a part of their big day, and I am happy to now call these two friends.
